Sense-Maker Hub
provides strategic communications for health companies navigating a launch, market shift or evidence milestone

When the problem sits between functions

You may already have Marketing, Product, Medical/Clinical, Commercial or Communications expertise in-house.

But a launch or market transition can create a problem that no single function owns.

Commercial

Needs a differentiated value proposition.

Medical

Needs communication to remain accountable to the evidence.

Product

Understands the offer and what it actually does.

Sales

Needs messaging and proof it can use in real conversations.

Stakeholders

Need different reasons—and different evidence—to act.

The problem isn't necessarily a lack of expertise.

It's connecting those inputs into positioning, messaging and market communication that hold together.

Where are you now?

NEW MARKET / NEW BUYER

Your existing position was built for a different decision-maker.

A new buyer or market can change what people evaluate, who influences the decision and what proof they require before they can act.

The question: What needs to change before we adapt the positioning and messaging?

You may need:
Market & Customer Intelligence → Positioning & Messaging

NEW EVIDENCE

New evidence may change what the business can credibly substantiate.

A study, clinical readout, RWE or outcomes milestone can strengthen the story—but also change what value can be supported and for whom.

The question: What does this evidence change about our value proposition and market communication?

You may need:
Evidence-to-Value → Positioning & Messaging → Market Education

LAUNCH / REPOSITIONING

The product or company has evolved, but the market story hasn't.

Different teams are emphasizing different value, while launch communication is beginning before the proposition is sufficiently aligned.

The question: What needs to align before we take this proposition into market?

You may need:
Positioning & Messaging → GTM Strategy & Market Activation

PARTNERSHIP / SCALE

Your value now has to travel through more people and contexts.

Partners, professionals and commercial teams need to understand where the offer fits, why it matters and what supports the value.

The question: What needs to become clear and usable for adoption to scale?

You may need:
Stakeholder Communication → Market Education → Enablement

What Sense-Maker Hub can help you solve

Market & Customer Intelligence

Know which market, buyer and decision you're building for.

For new markets, buyer segments, ICP questions and assumptions that need establishing before they shape positioning or GTM.

Which market or segment should we prioritize?

Who actually influences the buying decision?

What does this buyer evaluate?

Which objections and proof requirements matter?

Which assumptions need testing before we act?

So you can prioritize the right opportunity before positioning and GTM are built around it.

Positioning & Messaging

Build a value proposition your buyers recognize—and your evidence can support.

For launches, repositioning, new evidence, new buyers and offers whose current positioning no longer reflects the business.

What can we credibly own?

What makes the offer meaningfully different?

Why does that difference matter to this buyer?

Which proof supports the value proposition?

What stays consistent—and what needs to change?

So teams can work from one position that is differentiated, defensible and usable.

GTM Strategy & Market Activation

Turn your market position into communication your commercial teams can use.

For launches, market entry, new buyer routes and partnerships where positioning now needs to support real market decisions.

Which stakeholders need to move?

What does each need before they can act?

Where does market education belong?

What messaging and proof do commercial teams need?

What needs to be ready before market entry?

So the position can move into market through launch, education, enablement and activation.

Content Strategy & Thought Leadership

Turn evidence and expertise into market authority.

For companies with valuable evidence, expertise, data or IP that the market doesn't yet fully understand or associate with them.

What does the market need help understanding?

Which issues can we credibly own?

Where does evidence need interpretation?

What content supports evaluation or adoption?

Where can leadership contribute a useful point of view?

So you build a recognizable body of thinking around expertise the market has reason to value.

One problem can use several capabilities.

You don't need to assemble your own service package.

Situation The work might connect
New buyer Market Intelligence → Positioning
Launch Positioning → GTM → Enablement
New evidence Evidence-to-Value → Messaging → Market Education
Thought-leadership platform Positioning → Evidence → Content
We start with the business problem and use only the capabilities required to solve it.

What this looks like in practice

Real problems rarely fit neatly inside one capability. These projects show how research, evidence, strategic communication and systems thinking combine around the outcome that needs to change.

European Mental Health Ecosystem Investigation

Mapping what was holding European mental-health innovation back

Challenge

Organisations across Europe described different barriers — funding, adoption, workforce pressure and fragmented services — but there was no shared view of what was repeatedly preventing promising approaches from scaling.

What we did

Structured and compared input from 23 organisations across 10 countries, looking across individual accounts for recurring mechanisms, dependencies and system-level priorities.

Result

Five recurring system barriers identified. The research converted fragmented perspectives into priorities for adoption, coordination, workforce capacity, sustainable funding and system integration.

European MDMA-Assisted Therapy Implementation Research

Turning clinical evidence into a roadmap for safe European implementation

Challenge

Clinical evidence established therapeutic potential, but it did not answer the practical questions facing European health systems: how to train practitioners, regulate delivery, protect access and implement treatment safely.

What we did

Co-developed and synthesized research with 68 international experts, translating scientific evidence into implementation questions spanning training, clinical practice, regulation and access.

Result

Evidence became implementation criteria. 88% backed mandatory specialist training, 79% flagged inadequate therapist training as a risk, and 71% called for standardized protocols — clarifying priorities for safe, scalable adoption across European healthcare systems.

MAPS × UPRA Ethical Systems & Communications Redesign

Turning an ethics rupture into stronger institutional safeguards

Challenge

A high-stakes incident appeared to require a better response. Investigation exposed the deeper risk: consequential decisions were moving through informal relays without reliable verification or clear escalation ownership.

What we did

Led a six-month communications and systems-design intervention, mapping information flow and translating the diagnosis into stronger verification, grievance and response procedures.

Result

Safeguards changed. Verification requirements were strengthened, protected categories expanded and response rules clarified, with insights carried into later MAPS training and Ukrainian ethical guidelines.

Different challenges. The same principle: start with the business or institutional problem and use only the capabilities required to solve it.

Ways to work together

The capabilities describe what we can work on. The engagement model describes how we work on it. You don't need to choose both before getting in touch.

DIAGNOSE

You can see the problem, but don't yet know what deserves fixing.

Establish where intervention is likely to create the most value before committing to the solution.

SOLVE

You know the decision or problem that needs solving.

Answer the strategic question or solve the connected problem required to move forward.

PARTNER

Strategic communication decisions keep emerging as the business changes.

Keep strategy, communication and priority activation aligned as evidence and commercial priorities evolve.

Start where the problem is.

If the research is strong, we use it.

If the positioning is right, we don't rebuild it.

If one strategic question needs answering, we don't turn it into a large project.

If the need keeps evolving, Partnership can provide continuity.

No forced sequence. No predetermined service bundle.

Not sure where to start?

You don't need to choose a capability or engagement before contacting SMH.

Tell me:

What's changing?
What decision or milestone is ahead?
What's getting stuck—or needs to become ready?

I'll recommend the lightest engagement that fits the problem—including when you don't need a Diagnostic or a larger project.
